Evaline Harmsen

Research Interests: Aquatic ecology, conservation biology, ecotoxicology, oil sands monitoring

Background

I completed my Honours Bachelor of Science at Carleton University with a focus on Wildlife Conservation. For my undergraduate thesis, I looked at the trophodynamics of Mercury in aquatic food chains in the Athabasca Oil Sands region, supervised by Dr. Philippe Thomas (ECCC) and Dr. Steven Cooke (Carleton University). I have spent the last few years as a research assistant in an ecotoxicology lab at the National Wildlife Research Centre (ECCC) working to gather data for the Joint Oil Sands Monitoring Program.
