Project: ‘Hot fish’: Protecting human food security and biodiversity in face of climate change impacts on inland fisheries.

I am primarily studying the physiological responses of fish facing changes in their environment. I am also interested in examining the ecological repercussions of these responses.

The ‘Hot fish’ project aims to provide information on the vulnerability of key tropical freshwater fishes to climate change using respirometry, as well as to improve the capacity of local communities to conduct research projects. The project addresses a time sensitive conservation problem, and will contribute to the protection of culturally and socio-economically important fish species in tropical regions.
