Sofia Jain-Schlaepfer – science communicator and owner of Wise Art

Background

I am a Cooke lab alumni with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Carleton University and a Masters in Marine Biology from James Cook University. I also have many years of experience in visual arts and graphic design. My experience in both scientific research and visual communication has recently combined into a new vocation of  visual science communication. My mission is to take research beyond scientific publication to the public and policy makers by making it accessible through visualization. Recent projects have included infographics for peer-review publication, lesson plans for science outreach and science illustration.
