Students and alumni organize World Fish Migration Day event at Canadian Museum of Nature

On May 21st to celebrate international World Fish Migration Day 2016, Cooke lab students organized and executed a successful public outreach event at the Canadian Museum of Nature. Held in the Blue Room, interactive displays, activities, and technology demonstrations educated the public on local fish, the importance of migration, and how barriers to migration can impact fish ecology and productivity. Over 1000 patrons came through the museum! We were delighted to have such a wonderful event and thank our sponsors the American Fisheries Society Ontario Chapter, Natural Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada, Graduate Student’s Association, and Kilgore and Associates.

See you in 2018! 🙂
